The survey will inform the development of the 2024-2029 Campaspe Library Strategy.
The survey, which is accessible online and in person at all Campaspe libraries, aims to gather valuable insights and feedback from residents about their library usage, preferences, and aspirations.
Campaspe Shire Council Mayor Rob Amos expressed enthusiasm for the initiative.
“Our libraries play a crucial role in fostering lifelong learning, promoting literacy, and building strong, connected communities,” he said.
“Through this engagement process, the Council aims to better understand the diverse needs and interests of our community members, ensuring that future library initiatives reflect their priorities.”
In addition to the survey, the library will host a series of ‘Listen at the Library’ sessions, where residents can drop in to share their thoughts, ideas, and concerns directly with renowned library consultants Ian and Jacqui Phillips and library staff.
“As we embark on developing our 2024-2029 Library Strategy, we are eager to hear from our residents about how we can continue to enhance and expand our library services to better serve their needs,” Mr Amos said.
“By actively involving residents in developing our library strategy, we are ensuring that our libraries remain vibrant and responsive to the changing needs of our diverse population.”
The ‘Listen at the Library’ sessions are scheduled as follows:
- Rochester - 9am to noon, Tuesday, June 4.
- Lockington - 12.30pm to 1pm, Tuesday, June 4.
- Echuca - 10am to 1pm, Monday, June 3, and 1.30pm to 4.30pm, Tuesday, June 4.
- Gunbower - 9am to 9.30am, Monday, June 3.
“We believe that our libraries are vital hubs of community engagement, learning, and cultural enrichment, but there is always room for improvement, so now is the chance for the community to have their say about future ideas for the library,” Mr Amos said.
