Lions Club donates to L2P program

Yarrawonga Lions Club Youth Chairman John Weinert, Berry Street Moira L2P program’s Jenni Bowles and Bill Winters, Lions Club of Yarrawonga President Joan Tufvesson and Past President Denis Griffiths with a cheque of $800 from the Lions Club to the L2P Program.

It was with great pleasure that the Lions Club of Yarrawonga and the Berry Street Moira L2P program were finally able to meet face to face in late December.

Lions President Joan along with Past President Denis and Youth Chairman John presented a cheque for $800 as a donation from earlier in 2021 to Bill Winters and Jenni Bowles from the Berry Street Moira L2P program.

This funding will be directed towards providing further professional drive lessons for learner drivers in the program.

Although we have all experienced a difficult year, the L2P program can report that in 2021 there were 14 learner’s that passed their Probationary licence.

The program also accrued 353 supervised drive lessons throughout this past year and provided 30 professional drive lessons.

Berry Street thanked the Lions Club Mentor Supervising Drivers for being a part of this program, as without them this program ceases to exist.

Currently the L2P program are seeking more supervising drivers in Yarrawonga to assist with the program.
