A flood watch was issued by VICSES on Tuesday at 8.30am, and a number of catchments across the region are likely to be impacted.
River levels are expected to rise at the Goulburn River, Eildon to Seymour and downstream of Seymour, the Broken River, Seven and Castle Creeks, and the Loddon River.
Moderate rainfall has been forecast for the flood watch area from overnight Monday through to Wednesday morning.
Isolated moderate flooding might also develop if the rainfall is in the upper end of the forecast range.
VICSES is encouraging residents to stay informed, monitor your local conditions and remain alert.
You should decide what you and your family will do if flooding impacts you, listen to emergency broadcasters and monitor warnings, and keep an eye on weather forecasts and river levels.
Farmers should consider moving livestock and machinery to higher ground.
