Over the past five years there has been major infrastructure upgrades at the prime waterfront park consisting of 17 new apartment and waterfront cabins (replacing the 20-year-old original cabins), 14 new synthetic grassed drive through sites, sealing of roads culminating in two recently installed luxury high rise three-bedroom apartments.
A new amenities block, camp kitchen and five luxury motel units will also be completed by September 30 in readiness for the busy tourist season.
Mulwala Water Ski Club CEO Peter Duncan said the club have spent more than $2 million on redeveloping the Holiday Park over the past 12 to 18 months and will spend a further $800,000 this financial year.
“The board have been focused on not only upgrading facilities in the clubhouse but also continuing the redevelopment of the Holiday Park along with further upgrades at the Max Kirwin Ski Park,” Mr Duncan said.
“The redevelopment of the Holiday Park has been paying great dividends with increased occupancy while attracting a higher dollar value per booking.”
Mr Duncan said local building company Yarrawonga Manufactured Housing has delivered a fantastic result.
“It’s been great using a local builder we know can deliver a quality product and fantastic follow up service.
“John and Nathan Tresize along with their great team have been fantastic to deal with, producing a quality product on time and on budget.
“It’s a win-win result and it further benefits the community using a local business.”
Mr Duncan said the club is also in the process of upgrading the Max Kirwan Ski Park, further enhancing its status as a world class facility, this time in readiness for some major events in 2020.
A new two-level amenities block, office, food outlet and a judge’s viewing area are also being built by Yarrawonga Manufactured Housing and will be ready for the World Water Ski Show Tournament being held by the International Waterski and Wakeboard Federation (IWWF) from March 20 – 22, 2020.
“This is a world class event and we will make sure we deliver a world class facility for it,” Mr Duncan said.
