Celebrity chefs Courtney Roulston and Matt Moran alongside NRL legend Nathan Hindmarsh are ambassadors for the awards where the chefs will be sampling as many of the 200-plus competition dishes as possible.
YMGCR is in the running with its very delicious red wine braised lamb shank, paired with sweet potato mash, herb butter, sauteed peas, cherry tomato and potato crisps.
They need your vote as they face off against stiff competition with Tweed Heads Twin Towns Pizzeria Moreton Bay bug pizza, and the Kiama Leagues Club Panna Colada among the contenders..
Marketing manager Rob Alexander said the lamb shank was an easy choice to enter into the awards, by popular demand.
“We have found it to be an overwhelming favourite and as well as the delicious taste, it also looks great on the plate,” Mr Alexander said.
“Being put together with local produce and showcasing more of our region was also a great drawcard. We are very proud of our product.
“This is the second time we have entered the Your Local Club Perfect Plate Awards, with our grilled Murray Valley pork chop a crowd favourite in 2023; so we are looking forward to seeing how far we go this time.

As the competition’s ambassadors, Matt and Courtney - along with Nathan, will be embarking on a road trip across NSW to meet club chefs, taste their creations and encourage the public to vote for their favourite dishes.
With the awards now in the fifth year, Courtney, whose career started in clubs, said club chefs kept raising the bar each year with the quality of the dishes.
“Last year the food was a step up from the year before and I have no doubt this year the clubs are really going to step it up again — you can get anything in clubs these days,” she said.
Between May 2 and June 15, patrons are encouraged to visit YMGCR to taste the Perfect Plate dish on offer and give it a score out of five by scanning the unique QR code or filling out a simple paper voting form.
While diners can only vote for each Perfect Plate dish once, they are encouraged to taste as many competition dishes at as many clubs as possible to boost their chances of winning a prize.
A $100 voucher will be drawn each day of the competition, and the two diners who vote for the most Perfect Plate dishes will win a ‘Foodie Escape’ for two valued at up to $3,500.
The NRMA has come on board as the presenting partner of the 2025 Your Local Club Perfect Plate Awards, with My NRMA members to receive 10 per cent cash back into their My NRMA app upon purchasing their first Perfect Plate dish, and two per cent cash back for purchases thereafter.
The 13 clubs that receive the highest average score for their dishes based on patron ratings will be crowned the winners of their respective regions.
There will also be three state-wide winners announced in the small, medium and large club categories; as well as one state-wide winner in the Perfect Pizza category and one for Best Dessert.
