Yarrawonga Health CEO Elaine Mallows said the event will highlight the health service’s maternity services and showcase their team of highly skilled GP Obstetricians and trained midwives that back them.
“For over 70 years now Yarrawonga Health has been safely caring for mothers and babies in the Yarrawonga and surrounding communities,” Ms Mellows said.
Yarrawonga Health offers low-risk birthing services, close to home for people in Yarrawonga and surrounding communities and has shared cared pathways for associated prenatal health risk.
During the evening showcase, couples will be presented by the hospital’s dedicated medical staff of GP Obstetricians, trained midwives, and allied health services who all work together to provide continuity of care to women and their families during pregnancy, birth and the transition to parenting.
A meet and greet opportunity will also be given to couples to get personalised advice on the night.
“We are proud of our maternity services at Yarrawonga Health and are committed to investing and building their long-term capacity of service,” Ms Mellow said.
“We hope the evening highlights to women the benefits of birthing close to home for low-risk pregnancies and the clear shared cared pathways we provide to women to return to Yarrawonga for postnatal care should they not be suitable to birth here,” she said.
In April last year, Yarrawonga Health was found to be providing a nurturing birth experience to women through a Safer Care Victoria review.
