Coles is on track for an expected opening in 2026. A Coles spokesperson said it was still too early to confirm a specific opening time.
Yarrawonga Village will be a brand-new development anchored by a 3,692sqm Coles supermarket and 200sqm Liquorland.
“We’re excited to see strong progress on our new supermarket in Yarrawonga, with this store set to create hundreds of local retail and construction jobs,” a spokesperson said.
“We’ll continue to keep everyone updated as the project moves forward and we look forward to welcoming the local community.”
Work is progressing on the Frank Drive site.
The centre will have access to a large carpark from Frank Drive with 260 car spaces including disability, parent and electric car charging spaces, and some car spaces undercover.
Property developers, Pellicano, in joint venture with local business Judd & Sons, late last year sold two land parcels in Kaiela Business Park, on the Murray Valley Highway, to major supermarket chains Coles and Aldi.
"We welcomed the chance to purchase the site and are pleased with how Kaiela Business Park has grown into a hub for local and national businesses,” managing director Nando Pellicano said.
