For four wonderful nights, all beginning at 7.30pm, this show is guaranteed to open hearts, at times bring on tears, but will also generate great laughter and admiration for the characters and storyline throughout.
This story will stay with you forever!
The production centres around the story of an elderly man looking through his family album with help from his daughter.
Together they reminisce over events that involved relatives, friends, a neighbour and someone connected with his previous employment.
With unbelievable fun and admiration regarding the talents of the performers as they bring life to their characters, this play is so brilliantly created by the amazing Playwright Ms Hickey with extra twists and additions to the play by Yarrawonga’s own Director Brenda Spilva, strongly supported by co-director Adrian Ridley.
Rehearsals for Allegro Theatre Company’s production of ‘Family Album’ were interrupted briefly a week ago when former Neighbours star Scott McGregor (who played Constable Mark Brennan) dropped in for a visit.
Scott was just off the golf course where he had teamed up with Vivian Spilva and a few others to win the teams’ event on Sunday, November 9.
He now works at Cathedral Lodge and Golf Course at Thornton, an exclusive members’ only club with a course designed by Greg Norman and was here to promote the Cathedral Invitational which will host big names such as Adam Scott, Cam Smith, and Marc Leishman.
Scott is a regular visitor to Yarrawonga/Mulwala and took time to drop in to watch rehearsals under the direction of Brenda Spilva.
Scott liked what he saw and passed on a few acting tips to the cast.
‘Family Album’ featuring monologues and duologues by Margaret Hickey opens 7.30pm this Friday, November 17 and continues Saturday, November 18, Friday, November 24 and Saturday, November 25 at St Andrew’s Uniting Church Hall, 6 Piper Street.
As an opening night ‘extra’, there will be a complimentary glass of Prosecco on arrival and an exciting last-minute addition of meeting Playwright Margaret Hickey.
There will also be an intermission where hot refreshments and a sweet treat can be purchased for a gold coin donation each night.
