Simon hands over the keys

Well known and loved Simon the Barber owner Simon Reilly is taking a step back from the business and officially handing over the keys to new owner Daniel Vasilevski.

Simon purchased the barber shop from Dennis Lean (Tippy) in October 1983 in Cobram after Tippy opened the shop in the late 1960s.

From there Simon moved the shop from Cobram to Yarrawonga in 2000 where he has run it for the last 20 years.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank my many customers for their patronage for the last 37 years,” Simon said.

“I would now like to welcome Daniel Vasilevski as the new owner of the business.

“I won’t be leaving but will be stepping back to a part time position as I transition into retirement.”

New owner Daniel is an ex-A-League professional soccer player turned qualified barber after he always had a passion for hairdressing and gained experience working in barber shops while playing soccer.

Daniel is also the current owner of Wig Chop Barber Shop in Wangaratta and is better known in sporting circles as Wangaratta City Senior soccer coach.

“My reason for expanding to Yarrawonga is I felt a connection to this shop and would love to provide the high level of service and quality of men’s haircuts to the community of Yarrawonga,” Daniel said.
