Despite current Victorian lockdowns and gloomy economic news Yarrawonga’s Silverwoods lifestyle residential development is bucking the trend with a spike in land sales.

Development company Lotus Living recently released part of stage 13 known as the Thomson Release 1 and sold 80% of the available residential land blocks in just two days.
This was following Stage 7b The Links Release all sold out before land titles were even available.
Lotus Living General Manager Daniel Smith said these sales are speaking volumes for themselves.
“We are receiving very strong general enquiry from the local areas,” Mr Smith said.
“People are purchasing land now for future permanent living, as a holiday home or for an investment.
“For investors, knowing how more popular Yarrawonga is becoming and the demand for living or people holidaying all throughout the year is a real attraction.”
Mr Smith said government incentives have also played their part in the positive spike of sales.
“We have all the government incentive schemes in place and the attractive Regional First Home Owner’s Grant for further support.”
Mr Smith said strong sales demonstrate extremely robust and sturdy growth for Yarrawonga.
“It shows how much the area is thriving,” he said.
“We look forward to seeing even more construction of new homes at Silverwoods in the near future with these recent sales.
“People are upgrading and looking for improved change to live near stunning Lake Mulwala. It’s a fabulous location, surroundings and lifestyle all on offer here at Silverwoods.
“When building a new home we allow select or design layouts that are versatile with well-planned and thought out open spaces that are super functional.
“More and more people are coming to the region from local areas. The trend is very positive for the local economy and its future,” Mr Smith said.
Recent information provided by the REA Group highlights a sharp increase in first-home buyer enquiry on the groups online platform realestate.com.au since the beginning of the year mainly off the back of government incentives like the 5% deposit scheme, HomeBuilder along with record-low interest rates.
The REA Group also believe the COVID-19 Pandemic is poised to drive an exodus of people from Australia’s biggest cities as families bring forward plans to make a tree-change or a sea-change.
“People and businesses have had to pivot and adapt around how we live and how we work,” Mr Smith added.
“Thanks to the digital world it has enabled continued engagement and connection but importantly people can do most of their jobs remotely from home.
“Therefore, this shift has created a platform for a new way of how we function and operate and importantly do business. It’s demonstrated we can do business from our homes.
“Silverwoods has NBN and would make a great choice for those locals who want to work from home. We have a really good range of various blocks of land to buy.
“This will make people re-think where they live. Instead of living say in the big cities and then travel to coastal or country regions on weekends for lifestyle – we are looking at it around the other way into the future.
“People will see they have a choice and freedom of more personal time with family and friends. It’s a choice and preference for lifestyle.
“They can live now in those regional areas and be based there most of the time. Travel for work mid-week only as required because it is possible and can easily be done now.
“People are re-thinking how we live and work around COVID.
“It’s incredibly positive that people from all local areas are moving to Yarrawonga, as it shows how much is on offer. People want to live and holiday here.”
