Tournament Water Ski NSW will receive $3,000 towards the cost of hosting the night event from March 29 to April 1.
Mulwala Public School P&C is to receive $1,500 towards the hosting of the annual kite festival event in October.
The funding was approved at council’s latest monthly meeting on April 30. Eight of the 12 eligible applications for funding up to $3,000 are for Corowa-related organisations.
Priority rating of the 12 grants was as follows:
1. $3,000 cash contribution to the Corowa CWA to assist with the cost of replacing the clubroom carpet.
2. $3,000 for the Rotary Club of Corowa to support the hosting of the Federation Festival.
3. $1,500 to the Corowa Pastoral, Agricultural and Horticultural Society to support the hosting of the 2024 Corowa Annual Spring Show.
4. $2,600 to the Corowa Anglers Club to assist with the purchase of first aid equipment.
5. $3,000 to the Corowa Historic Vehicle and Machinery Club to assist with the purchase and installation of air conditioning for display and meeting rooms.
(6. $3,000 for National Water Ski Championships).
7. $2,600 to the Corowa Race Club towards the purchase of a defibrillator.
8. $2,700 to the Corowa Rowing Club towards the cost of purchasing gym equipment suitable for use by young people and older people.
9. $1,500 to Urana Vintage Machinery towards the cost of hosting the 2024 Urana Vintage Machinery Rally.
10. $3,000 to the Daysdale Hall Committee to support the cost of restoring a local 1900's Historic Chaff Cutting Food Van to be placed on permanent display in the town.
11 ($1,500 for kite festival).
12. $2,600 to the Corowa She Shed towards the purchase of a defibrillator.
These grants are donated in two fund rounds per financial year. The total allocation is $60,000 per annum, with $30,000 allocated to each funding round.
Cr Andrew Kennedy said it was good to see council giving money to the organisations. “It’s also good we share the money around the shire,” he said.
