Skippy’s just scrap metal magic

“I found a picture on the internet and copied it,” he said.

“I’m very proud of it.”

As a teenager, Ian worked as a panel beater and his father worked for a wrought iron company so he pottered a bit working with metal.

“Once you do that sort of work it helps you to do other things,” Ian said.

Now in retirement, he goes down to the Men’s Shed three mornings a week where they have all the materials and machines to make all sorts of things.

“I like meeting other men my age and having a chat; it’s the camaraderie,” he said.

“We also fix things for people just for a donation.”

Ian displayed his kangaroo in the Yarrawonga Show and he’s had an offer to buy it that he says he’s “pretty happy with”.
