Speed concern on new Kyffins roads

“Can we have some speed limits or speed bumps to slow traffic down?” Cr Thomas asked council’s director engineering services Steve Carmichael at council’s latest monthly meeting on February 16.

“It was 2013 when the draft plan was put out. Are we still working to it and what’s planned next?”

Mr Carmichael said that cycle/pedestrian paths or tracks are proposed and that signage may be the way to go which would involve the traffic committee. He said he would report further back on the subject plan.

In answer to a specific question from Cr Thomas, he said the roadworks are part of the “about $240,000 project”, the funding of which forms part of the 45km bike/cycle track between Corowa and Mulwala, in which many shire residents are keen to see starting signs of development.
