Starting leadership young as house captains

The role of house captain gives students the opportunity to lead their peers and liaise with school teachers and staff.

House captains show leadership by taking charge of sporting activities and positive behaviour programs.

They will be busy organising teams for sporting days and making speeches on behalf of their peers.

They will also have an active role at assemblies and other school-related engagements.

They will also take part in leadership programs.

Here are the new student leaders from around the region:

Seymour College

Puckapunyal Primary School

Student voice: Eighteen students have been selected to be student representative councillors. Their role is to represent their classrooms during SRC meetings. The representatives discuss school issues and report back to their classrooms.

Bradman: Axton and Henry were picked as the Bradman house captains.

Chisholm: Harley and Elah are this year’s Chisholm house captains.

Hume: Charlotte and Elisha are Hume house captains.

Melba house: Evie and Mikhail are this year’s captains of Melba house.

SRC leaders: Savannah and Brayden were chosen to take on leadership roles. Their responsibilities include organising the SRC meetings and distributing the minutes. They will also take charge of some of the school fundraising events.
