A successful trivia night was held recently at the Swanpool Memorial Hall.

More than 100 people came along to help raise funds to purchase new equipment for the Swanpool CFA brigade.
An event spokesperson said many businesses in Swanpool, Benalla, Mansfield and Beechworth donated prizes.
“Along with some very generous anonymous donors,” the spokesperson said.
“(Which) helped the Swanpool community make it a very successful trivia night.”
The evening was organised by volunteers from the community, with Jeremy Kaye playing emcee for the night.
More than 100 people attended Swanpool’s trivia night, raising funds for the local CFA.
“He researched and wrote a long list of fascinating questions to test our knowledge,” the spokesperson said.
“There were some tricky questions, but the winning team got 205 out of the 225 correct, with only a few points separating them from the second and third prize winners.”
Made up of family and friends, the winning team, called ‘The Mull Overs’, took home a host of prizes valued at over $400.
‘No Eye Dear’ and ‘Pam’s Brigade’ came in second and third, respectively, taking home prizes totalling $450.
Complete with a range of fun games, challenges, raffles and auctions, the night ended up raising $5000 for the Swanpool CFA.
Swanpool CFA captain Neil Williams said the money would be used to provide vital equipment for brigade members.
Swanpool's own Jeremy Kayne was the host of the town's recent trivia night.
“I’m overwhelmed by the generosity of the people and business who donated prizes,” he said.
“Thank you to the Swanpool and District Community Development Association who donated $1000 on the night, and the huge turn-out from the community.
“We are indebted to Jeremy for his highly entertaining hosting, and a local team of volunteers from our community who worked hard to pull the event together.
“Funds raised from the night will be put to good use to buy protective equipment for our firefighting crew.
