Woodlands to town
Far east Yarrawonga, aptly known as ‘Woodlands’ now has access to walk or cycle the 5km (approx) distance into town, hugging Lake Mulwala.
From Woodlands Park, take a stroll along the developed Silverwoods estate, past Sebel Yarrawonga. Cross the lake along the boardwalk at the ‘point’ and join part of the Chinamans Island trail. From Chinamans Island, wander along River Road onto the Yarrawonga Foreshore and then into town. Belmore Street joins the foreshore track. This is the main street in Yarrawonga which has an abundance of eateries and retail shops with the latest in fashion and accessories.
The Two Bridges
This trail can start from either bridge, on either side of the border. Cross from the Visitor Information centre into Mulwala and towards the Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club Resort before crossing the weir bridge, with the view down the river well worth the walk.
Alternatively start at the weir wall reserve, cross the canal bridge and take in the main traffic bridge and lake on your way around. The Two Bridges Walk totals 2.8 kilometers.
Chinaman’s Island Wetlands
Chinaman’s Island is a flora delight for those who enjoy a walk through a wildlife reserve. The Chinaman’s Island track return totals two kilometers along the lake side as well as through shrubbery with native flora and sometimes fauna to be seen. This trail can be accessed from the Yarrawonga Yacht Club or Rowing Club (off Botts Road).
Yarrawonga Foreshore
A trail along the Yarrawonga Foreshore starts at the Yarrawonga Mulwala traffic bridge and follows picturesque Lake Mulwala to the Yarrawonga Yacht Club. Soak up the cool breeze off the lake and pass by the boarding of Paradise Queen and the Cumberoona on this 4.2kilometre trail.

Yarrawonga Regional Park
Starting at the downstream end of the Yarrawonga Holiday Park, this approximate 3.5km walking trail takes you into a typical red gum forest with its magnificent birdlife and statuesque trees which line the banks of the Murray River.
Set out by Parks Victoria this walk/cycle is a nature trail.
This popular park is a haven for tourists, especially in the summer months. Keep a lookout for one of the Koalas released here in 1995.
Walking and cycling from Yarrawonga to Burramine is another trail in the planning with Moira Shire awarded federal government funding for the trail. This trail is the first stage in the large Murray River Adventure Trail, designed to invite a whole new population, locals and visitors alike, to experience and appreciate the Murray River environs.
