Celebrating home 2000 last month were Hadar’s Hayden Moon, Andrew Beggs, Jess Murfitt, with new homeowners Phillip and Helen, Jackie Stevens and Rick Leeworthy.
What began as a vision to return "honour" to the building profession has reached an extraordinary peak, as regional builder Hadar Homes officially handed over its 2,000th home recently.

The achievement marks three decades of growth for the family-owned business, which started with humble beginnings in Yarrawonga.
Since its founding in 1995, the company has expanded across North East Victoria and the Southern Riverina to become one of Australia’s top 100 builders.
New homeowners Phillip and Helen cut the ribbon to celebrate their new home and Hadar’s 2000th build.
Founder and Managing Director Rick Leeworthy established the company after working as a plumbing contractor in the 1990s.
During that time, he identified a persistent gap between the promises builders made and the quality they delivered.
Choosing the ancient word "Hadar" — meaning "honour" — as the company name, Leeworthy sought to build a business guided by integrity.
“Hitting 2,000 handovers is something I’m enormously proud of, not just for our family, but for every staff member, tradesperson and client who has been part of the journey,” Leeworthy said, noting that the milestone was “difficult to comprehend” even for a visionary.
Building more than houses
For the entire Hadar team, the number 2,000 represents more than a construction figure; it signifies two thousand families who trusted the firm with their largest life investment.
The company emphasizes that its legacy is found in the "thousands of memories" created within those walls, from first birthdays to quiet moments in spaces designed specifically for living.
Despite current economic pressures and rising construction costs impacting the industry, Hadar Homes maintains that its focus remains on quality, transparency, and the customer experience.
The milestone arrives as the business transitions into a second-generation family company.
Three of the Leeworthy’s four children now work within the business, and even the grandchildren have expressed interest in joining the ranks.
“Seeing the business transition into a second-generation family company is probably one of the proudest moments of all,” Leeworthy said.
“It means the values we started with are continuing into the future”.
Hadar Homes shows no signs of slowing down, with plans for a new showroom and office space in Wodonga, alongside new display homes and continued system innovations.
While the designs and technologies have evolved over 30 years, the company asserts that its core mission remains the same: creating homes where people build their lives while helping shape stronger local communities for the future.
