Member for Benambra Bill Tilley has announced that he will be taking an extended leave to address significant health challenges.
In a heartfelt statement, Mr Tilley took the opportunity to reflect on the year’s achievements and update his constituents on both political and personal matters, highlighting the successful campaigns undertaken throughout the year, including the addition of an extra weekend train service, advocating for a full seat ticketing system, extending protection for farmers against wild dogs in the Upper Murray, and addressing the shortcomings of the Albury hospital site.
However, amid these accomplishments, Mr Tilley shared the news of his current health challenges.
“Following medical advice, I have some significant health challenges that require me to take some time off to undertake treatment.”
Despite his leave, Mr Tilley assured constituents that his office would continue to operate as usual.
Mr Tilley expressed gratitude for the support received during his tenure and wished the community a happy and healthy Christmas.
