The first round of YMCLC's Hospitality Essentials Course took place at ClubMulwala from Thursday, May 4 to Thursday, May 11.
Yarrawonga Mulwala Community & Learning Centre recently secured funding from the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) to deliver a five-day intensive ‘Hospitality Essentials’ course to Workforce Australia participants.

The first round of this course began on Thursday, May 4 at ClubMulwala.
The course was developed to help support the local Hospitality and Tourism sector who are experiencing skill shortages, and to support Jobseekers in providing them with skills, knowledge, and confidence, as well as creating connections for them with them to local hospitality employers.
The intensive course which is led by YMCLC trainers covers; Workplace Health and Safety: Communication and Customer Service: Housekeeping - motel room servicing: Hygiene for Food Handlers (nationally accredited unit SITXFSAOOS Use hygienic oractices for food safety): RCG - NSW (Responsible Conduct of Gambling): Barista Basics (pre-accredited unit): RSA - NSW and Vic (nationally accredited unit SITHFABO21 Provide responsible service of alcohol): and Hospitality ‘tips’ all within just five davs of learning
YMCLC are pleased to be delivering three rounds of this course, with rounds two and three scheduled to start on May 16 and May 30. Each round gives students the opportunity to connect with potential employers at a local hospitality venue.
