Tungamah 29 def by Rumbalara 70
The Tungamah girls knew they would be up for a challenge against a strong Rumbalara side.
The first quarter saw the Bears find their grounding and utilise the space on court well.
Down the court Vic was superb in providing back up options and had great vision feeding into the shooters. Against tall defenders the attack end didn’t force the ball into the ring and took care of their possession. Chelsea made some amazing shots and provided direction in the ring.
The refined Rumbalara were too good for Tungamah and despite Abbey and the defender’s endless attempts to slow down their shooters, they were unable to prevent the accuracy of the goalers.
Despite the score the Bears stuck together as a team backing each other and held their heads up. Congratulations to Ella Costigan who took to the court for her A grade debut and provided lots of drive in attack.

Great first three quarters of netball. Leading at every break, the Bears girls were one step ahead in their passing and coverage of the court.
Unfortunately, the pressure of Rumbalara was too great in the fourth for Tungamah and they overpowered the girls.
The encouragement and talking across the thirds and the sideline was good to hear. Good luck for next week girls.

Another great team performance. Kait Megarrity and Amber Peachey held strong in defense always making the opposition shooters work hard, Bernadette Attwood, Caity Whitelock, Bridget Saunders, Brooke Keenan and Olivia Hayes making great space and choices in the mid court and Danielle Sidebottom and Leanne Laffan working great together in the ring.
The girls are working hard at training and it shows during the games.
Awards: Celebrations - Bridget Saunders, Brewit - Amber Peachey.

What a game, everyone loves a comeback. Unfortunately, the Bears didn’t start off on the right foot, letting Rumbalara get a few easy goals having Tungamah down 3 goals at quarter time.
An even second quarter, everyone working hard to not let the margin blow out.
The second half was much better, Leah, Kim and Sally another outstanding effort by all in defense the turnovers and intercepts brought Tungamah back into the game.
Katie proved that size doesn’t matter with an opponent almost twice her height she still managed to find the ring, it was a draw in the last quarter with only minutes to go.
Dan worked tirelessly to get that ball to the shooters. Everyone digging deep in the last few minutes the teams were goal for goal but a few rushed passes saw Rumbalara get the last goal to be in front, after a great team effort to come back and only lose by 1 goal.

A good game girls. With some away, it took a bit of time to get used to each other’s style of play but came away with the win.
It was a struggle at times but you held it together. Well done.

Wow what a team effort. After a good win last week the girls knew if they backed each other they could get another win on the board.
Each quarter you could see the girls go from strength to strength with strong passes from centre, down the court and into ring.
It was fabulous to see the girls focus on their goal and ensure they talked on and off the court.
The defensive pressure each week is terrific to see and the weekend was no different.
Mid court they had a few changes but were still able to apply enough support and pressure to get the ball down to the goalies who secured the goals for the team.
Overall all the girls should be proud of themselves as their coaches were of them.
The confidence is growing and it certainly made it hard to pick best on court when there continues to be improvement with the whole team. Keep it up girls.

The girls went out strong applying the skills the team have been working hard on.
They stepped up trying out the new set plays which proved a success. The defence and quick action turned over many balls providing many goaling opportunities leaving Tungamah only 2 goals at half time.
Some changes at half time saw the girls lose confidence and the Rumbalara girls took full advantage.
Tungamah lost momentum and unfortunately couldn’t turn it back around.
A credit to the girls who never gave up and held their heads high on a tough game.

The storm on Thursday night must of washed away the Tungamah girls mojo from last week as they all looked a little lost on court, but not to be discouraged there were still some amazing netball skills on show.
Emily B played and moved well again in GD and jumped to intercept and got many rebounds of Rumba’s missed goal attempts.
Molly had very high expectations of herself after her award winning performance last week and did not disappoint as WD and GK; after admitting to Coach Deb that she had no idea who her players were, she turned that around and stuck on her player for the rest of the game.
Elli as GK and GD used her feet fast and her strong one handed passing to turn the ball around and move it quickly down the court.
It was midcourt Shylee as C chasing every loose ball down and was always present for an option going up and down the court.
Chloe as WA had a little fall and slide in the first quarter, waked it off, then kept playing, once again showing the rest of the team how to drive forward and then reset if needed.
Maddy took over WA in the 2nd half and kept moving around the court to get in front of her opponent, Emily C and Chaye shared WD and both held their positions well on the ring always having arms up defending the ball.
In attack Alani in GA did well at listening to Coach Deb instructions on the sidelines and was always in good position to receive the ball.
Lara played GS and showed that her height was no disadvantage and jumped to get rebounds from her taller opponent.
It was a consistent game with the Tungamah girls scoring 1 goal per quarter, with Rumbalara with a much taller side pulling away with the score line as the games progressed.
