In just three hours, the community helped raise more than $3,000 to support the students on their upcoming journey along the Kokoda Track.
From 4–7pm, children enjoyed unlimited rides, while the smell of a sizzling BBQ and the sound of laughter filled Tunzafun.
The evening brought together families, friends, and supporters for a cause that means so much to the young leaders preparing for their trek.
Adding to the spirit of the day, students from Yarrawonga College P–12 Kokoda leadership team volunteered their time to help run the rides and activities.
Their energy and enthusiasm created a welcoming atmosphere and ensured the event ran smoothly from start to finish.
Event organisers were quick to thank Dave and his dedicated team at Tunzafun, who went above and beyond to make the fundraiser possible.
“Dave and his crew were absolutely fantastic,” said Kokoda team member, Beth Robinson.
“They gave us an opportunity not only to raise funds, but to bring the community together in such a positive way.”
Tunzafun is also putting out a call for volunteers.
The popular local attraction is desperately seeking community members willing to lend a hand.
Volunteering at Tunzafun is a rewarding experience, offering people the chance to give back to the community, meet new friends, and be part of the fun that brings joy to so many families.
Yarrawonga College P–12 has been running the Kokoda trip every two years since 2009, giving students the opportunity to take part in the once-in-a-lifetime experience.
This program would not be possible without the strong partnership and sponsorship from Club Mulwala over the last 16 years.
In the lead-up to the trek, the team works hard to raise additional funds to ensure the trip is affordable and accessible for all students, regardless of their circumstances.
The Kokoda leadership team departs in just two weeks for Papua New Guinea, where they will spend the September school holidays trekking the historic Kokoda Track.
The experience will challenge them physically and mentally, while also teaching resilience, teamwork, and respect for the history of Australian soldiers who fought there during World War II.
Community members are encouraged to get behind the team and follow their journey.
The Kokoda Team extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone who came along to support the fundraiser.
The success of the event reflects the strength of community spirit in Yarrawonga Mulwala and shows what can be achieved when people come together for a shared purpose.
