While lining up to make hoop 7, with Judi showing immense concentration and nerves of steel, the mallet came down.
Staying straight and true the ball cleared hoop 7 and continued arrow straight, also clearing hoop 8. An amazing shot which bought cheers and congratulations on court.
Not seen every day, players tried to repeat this long shot but alas, not to be and the day belonged to Judi.
Results: Tuesday July 23 - Well done to Bob Fiddes who was the winner with 19 hoops, followed closely by Laurelle Spring on 18 hoops.
Strong competition today with the courts playing beautifully and all 17 players thoroughly enjoyed their games.
Two of the members, Noline and Gerald Hardman play regularly on Tuesdays and really enjoyed their games in this session, despite the cool weather.
You don’t need a playing partner however to come and play, as the club draw numbers for pairs at the start of each game.
If you are not experienced, come along on Friday to get started and you will be paired with an experienced player to help you along.
Thursday July 25 - Six players for this session and the club were really pleased to congratulate winner Colin Crawford who was visiting from the Traralgon club.
On 19 hoops, Colin narrowly crossed the line ahead of Nancye Wallace who completed her games with a strong 16 hoops.
On Friday there were 20 players across three courts and although the wind was freezing, the spirits were high and some very competitive hoops were fought out.
Players and visitors enjoyed a wonderful Christmas in July morning tea between games.
Once again, Saturday play was well attended despite a number of regular members having gone north on holidays.
President Judi Welch and the committee members are very grateful to everyone for helping out at the club, particularly in the coming weeks, supporting visiting school groups.
The next General Meeting will be held on August 27 at 12 noon at the Croquet Clubrooms.
