The seminar will start at 9.30am, focusing on soil health and ways to improve soil for increased productivity.
Chef, farmer, and food writer Matthew Evans is the keynote speaker.
Mr Evans lives and works on Fat Pig Farm, a diverse farm where he gardens, makes cider, raises pigs, and milks dairy cows for his restaurant.
Additional speakers will include soil scientist Dr Cassandra Schefe, RMCG consultant Matt Shanahan, soil microbial ecologist Dr Helen Hayden, soil scientist and agricultural and horticultural scientist Declan McDonald.
Dr Schefe has authored 16 scientific journal papers and numerous conference proceedings and is accredited as a Certified Professional Soil Scientist by Soil Science Australia.
Mr Shanahan has been working extensively in the field of recycled water and organics management.
Dr Hayden’s research interests include soil biology, health, microbe interactions, and plant diseases.
While, Mr McDonald has over 30 years’ experience in soil and agricultural management.
At the end of the seminar, HCCC will be giving away 10 signed copies of Mr Evans' latest book, Soil.
