Alistair Forge was a remarkable gentleman who cherished life and deeply loved his family.
He was the proud father of Stuart, Rod, who continued his farming legacy, and Susan (dec) and he will be dearly missed by his five grandchildren: Sharnah, Max, Libby, Marcy and Sierra.
Alistair spent most of his life in Burramine, living in the same home for 78 years before moving to Yarrawonga.
As a boy he rode his bike to Burramine North School and later attended Scotch College as a boarder.
After completing school, Alistair returned home to work on the family farm.
He married Kaye and the couple had a happy union for 63 years.
Community service was a defining part of Alistair’s life. He served with the Burramine Fire Brigade for more than 65 years and dedicated several decades to the Yarrawonga Hospital committee.
He was also an active member of the Yarrawonga Tennis Club, including time as president, and took great pride in helping run the Easter tournament, erecting courts on the football oval and spending many hours in the tournament box.
In addition to these roles, Alistair serviced as a Yarrawonga Shire councillor until the amalgamation with Cobram.
He was also involved in Probus, where he enjoyed contributing to the local club and spent time as its president.
