Over school holidays particularly, many children can be seen enjoying the rides and activities on offer at the amusement park, with parents and guardians also enjoying this great facility right on their doorstep.
Mulwala Progress Association president Robert Purtle and Tunzafun manager David King said to continue to maintain and operate Tunzafun, they needed to urgently increase the pool of volunteers.
“Volunteers perform various duties including but not limited to: keeping the park clean, safe and tidy, engaging with patrons to ensure all health and safety and child safe procedures are followed, operate the kiosk and ticket sales booth, supervise rides, gardening and the maintenance and servicing of rides,” Mr King said.
“Tunzafun is a great place to volunteer and spend a few hours away from busy lives.
Tunzafun Community Amusement Park, in its current form, was created by the Mulwala Progress Association in 2013 with the property purchased from the NSW Lands Department with a loan provided to the community by the Central Murray Credit Union.
Overtime the committee has continued to improve the park by remodelling the mini golf course themed on the twin towns, building an office/ kiosk and toilet block facilities, installing vibrant shade sales, constructing under cover seating, gardens and BBQ area and continuing to add and upgrade amusement rides.
This has all been financed by takings from ticket sales, community grants and support from local businesses.
Recently Tunzafun has proudly supported the community with donations to the Yarrawonga Health Community Heart program and Friends in Common.
“Volunteers can give as much time a day or week, that they like,” Mr Purtle said.
“Any time would be greatly appreciated with both male and female volunteers welcome.”
