Hosted by Agriculture Victoria, the webinar is designed to help farmers manage the risk of fire on their land and start developing their own fire plan.
Developing a fire plan will be among the topics covered during the webinar.
It will also focus on identifying critical assets, protecting animals and ensuring that staff and contractors know their roles during an emergency.
“Whether you are a livestock producer, equine property owner, small landholder, hobby farmer or new to farming, planning now for the fire season can help reduce stress and ensure your people, property, animals, and business is prepared,” Agriculture Victoria land management extension officer Kylie Macreadie.
“Preparing involves identifying risks and taking practical steps well before a fire threatens your property.”
Agriculture Victoria will also share its Fire Preparedness Toolkit during the webinar.
This toolkit includes practical resources such as farm mapping templates, preparedness checklists, action plans and emergency contact templates.
