This achievement was made possible through the generosity of local sponsors, clubs and community members who got behind events like the movie night, the Lions BBQ and the major fundraising raffle.
“The donations, raffles and movie night made a significant contribution towards the purchase of breathing apparatus, required to make fighting fires safer for our firefighters,” Wilby brigade captain Lyndon Hart said.
With five trained members now ready to use the equipment, the brigade is better prepared for structural, house, and vehicle fires, benefiting the entire Northeast community.
“Thank you to our community, and to everyone who attended, donated, sponsored, or volunteered,” Cpt Hart said.
“You’ve helped make Wilby and district safer; please show your appreciation by visiting and supporting the businesses and clubs who supported us.”
