The main job opportunities that were discussed were roles in cleaning, catering, aged care, administration and nursing.
Yarrawonga Health Director of People and Culture Fiona Luke said the day was a success with several people checking out what is on offer and interviews conducted for those looking at joining the Yarrawonga Health team.
“We had a handful of people in the morning drop in to have a look at a few different roles that we currently have on offer as well as other areas within the hospital that they could enter into,” Ms Luke said.
“Most of the people that visited the drop-in session put an application in for a current job vacancy we have and we essentially held an interview with them at the time.
“A lot of the people we saw decided to pop down as they are interested in the health sector as well as several others who are thinking about moving to the area and wanted to see what we have on offer.
“We also held this day as we want to get the community interested in working for us. There is a real growth and need for the health service.
“We also wanted to show the members of our community that there is real career progression in working for Yarrawonga Health.
Yarrawonga Health currently have a number of job roles vacant but you did not have to attend the careers day to find out more.
“You can always reach out to us via the phone, email or even in person for more information about any roles we currently have available or that may be coming up,” Ms Luke said.
“Everyday is open day if you want to work at Yarrawonga Health.”
