The old library will close at 1pm this Saturday, October 17 in order to move the collection to the new library.
The new library will officially open on Tuesday, October 27, with public access from 12.30pm after the official opening.
“We have been waiting for a while, watching as the new library takes shape, and are excited to be moving in,” Yarrawonga Library coordinator, Kerry Currie said.
“We want to welcome as many community members as possible, and also new staff member Jackie Moffitt.
“Please pop in, say hello and enjoy the new library space.”
Kerry said they were grateful to the Moira Shire and the State Government through their Living Libraries grant program, which facilitated the new building, and to the community for supporting the new library with generous donations.
From October 17 until then there will be no access to the old library.
The returns book chute will be closed and there will be an interruption to public wi-fi access.
Books will not be due to return during the closed period.
Any items on loan will be due on November 4, and any reserved books will be held until then.
You can always visit Cobram or one of the other Goulburn Valley branch libraries and there will still be full access to online resources, eBooks, eMagazines, Kanopy video streaming, and eAudiobooks.
If you haven’t been to the Yarrawonga Library for a while, pop in and check out the fantastic new space, renew your membership, and pick up a flyer to see what is coming up at the library.
There will be new programming, including a new Baby Rhyme Time session, more computers for public use, and a meeting room, which will be available free for community groups to use.
