Yarrawonga 21.12.138 defeated Wodonga Raiders Red 1.0.6.
Round 9 of the AWJFL Under 14’s saw Yarrawonga take on Wodonga Raiders Red.
The boys were eager after missing footy the last few weeks and right from the 1st bounce, they came out firing.
Jordan Ibbott was strong in the ruck, giving his on ballers first use of the ball.
Zac Forge, Mitch Tyson and Archie Jaques worked hard in the centre, giving the forwards plenty of opportunities.
Jai Sneddon even got in on the act from the wing, getting front and centre in the forward contests, kicking 2 goals.
In the 2nd quarter the boys piled on another 5 goals to match their effort in the 1st quarter. Sam Trembath continued his great form dominating around the ground.
He was well assisted by Matty Saxton who was getting some great hard ball gets and well as using his fierce tackling causing the opposition to turn the ball over.
The 3rd quarter saw the Yarra boys pile on another 7 goals.
Jobe Fraser who had played a strong 1st half, really turned it on in the 3rd, dominating the ruck contests, taking strong overhead marks and used his big, long kick to set the forwards up.
Baxter Donovan was switched to the forward line, and he really impressed, kicking 2 goals as well as unselfishly setting his team mates up with goals of their own.
Max Loughnan also chipped in, showing off his sharp ball skills, kicking 2 goals for the quarter.
The 4th quarter saw the boys kick another 4 goals to run out the game in solid fashion.
Levi Saunders continued good form with more hard attack on the footy. Lachie Conway worked hard and got his hands on the ball numerous times and Riley Bone also stood out, kicking 2 great goals in the last quarter to finish the game with 3.
A great team win by the boys who now look forward to taking on ladder leaders Lavington next week.

Yarrawonga 8.4.52 defeated Wodonga Raiders Red 3.3.21.
Sunday saw footy back for the junior Pigeons against Wodonga Raiders Red, with the Raiders getting a jump on the boys who were a bit rusty early.
The Pigeons slowly worked back into the game to only be down by a goal at half time. The second half saw the boys get their run and carry going, with Jack Ibrahim rebounding everything off half back, in a best on ground performance.
The backs worked well together and were able to keep the Raiders scoreless in the second half.
The onballers provided the forwards with plenty of opportunities, which saw the Pigeons kick 6 goals in the last half and run away with the win.
