Pauline has spent the past 15 years at YNH, undertaking the many varying jobs within the house and has many memories of the time spent with new and long-standing members of the community.
“I have loved every minute, it has been so rewarding and I will really miss it,” Pauline said.
“But in saying that it is time for a change, but I won’t be too far away and won’t make myself a stranger.
“I have many memories of the place, but my favourites have been when people have come up to me in the street after completing our training and telling me they’ve got a job.
“That’s rewarding to know you’ve assisted in some way for that to happen.”
Although Pauline will be stepping aside from her role as CEO, she is only semi-retiring at this point.
“I’m just looking forward to being able to do a number of things I wasn’t able to do when working full time,” Pauline said.
“The neighbourhood house is in great hands though with the team we have and Julie-Ann replacing my role.”
Julie-Ann Clarke started working at YNH on November 9 as an extended handover period with Pauline and assisting in training.
Julie-Ann previously worked at eWorks in Wangaratta for 18 years with nine as CEO, spending almost 25 years in the industry.
“I love that I am now able to work in this industry, in this town. To be able to focus on the community I live in and my neighbours is terrific,” Julie-Ann said.
“The staff at YNH have been fantastic, and the board have been great especially as we aim to grow and expand.
“We are seeking to increase training especially in this ‘post covid’ period which will be great for those wanting to study further.
“Now is a great opportunity to grow with so many new people present in town. We have had a great number of people pop in or contact us and collect our ‘new resident’ packs or to volunteer at the house.
“It is also very exciting in this ‘post covid’ time that our volunteers are now starting to come back to the centre.”
With the YNH firmly running and exciting aspects to come in the near future, Julie-Ann is excited for her time at YNH.
“I am looking forward to my time here at Yarrawonga Neighbourhood House and look forward to meeting many new people and having an association with many groups throughout town,” Julie-Ann said.
