Youth Fest comes to the foreshore

Live music is a big feature of Youth Fest. This year Jade Gibson headlines a lineup of talented, young, local musicians.

The Yarrawonga Foreshore will buzz with energy as Moira Shire’s Youth Fest returns this month.

Youth Fest is a free, youth-led festival packed with live music, art, activities and plenty of community spirit.

The 2025 event was a huge success in Cobram, so this year it’s Yarrawonga’s turn during the September school holidays.

Shaped by young people for young people, the event has been developed in partnership with the Moira Youth Council and supported by funding through the Amplify program.

The line-up includes live music headlined by Jade Gibson, with performances by talented, local, young artists; hands-on art workshops; plenty of delicious food stalls; lots of fun games and activities; and the chance to learn about local services and opportunities for young people.

Adding an extra edge to the day will be the Yarrawonga Skate Park Competition, the second leg of the North East Skate Park Series.

Last year’s Youth Fest in Cobram was a huge success and this year it’s coming to the Yarrawonga Foreshore.

Moira Youth Council Mayor Madison McDiarmid is excited to invite Moira’s young people to the second Youth Fest.

“Last year’s was such a success and we look forward to this year’s being even bigger and better,” Madison said.

“Free events like this are a great place for young people to come together to have a voice, learn about what’s out in the community for them, make connections and enjoy a fun-filled day.

“We are grateful to have the opportunity to host this event and couldn’t do it without the support of Moira Shire Council and all those involved in making this possible.

“We look forward to seeing you all there.”

Moira Shire Council chair administrator Dr Graeme Emonson said Youth Fest was a testament to what young people could achieve when they’re given the opportunity to lead.

“This event started as an idea from a group of motivated young people, and it’s grown into something the whole community can enjoy,” Dr Emonson said.

“Youth Fest is a great reminder of the creativity and energy that exists right here in Moira, and we’re proud to support our Youth Council in bringing it to life again this year.”
