ATTENTION residents of Rochester and district.

The Rochester Show is a couple of months away and it is already shaping up to be bigger and better than in 2019.

And in a huge boost for the event, The Rochester Show Committee are excited to announce it will run over two days for the first time in three years.

Friday, February 21 will boast a variety of kids’ competitions, the Ute Show ‘n’ Shine, a whip-cracking show and fireworks starting at 9 pm.

Saturday, February 22 will bring all the classic favourites such as the cattle show, horse-riding competition, dog show and home-crafts pavilion, as well as a wide array of rides, tasty food and showbags.

Co-ordinator Merryn Murray said the show would have something for everyone to enjoy at an affordable price.

“It’s low-cost and enjoyable for the whole family to get involved in,” she said.

“We’re trying to put on a really fun, community-bonding activity.”

One of the big draws on the Saturday is the Family Fun Day, which will sport a blow-up obstacle course, games and petting zoo.

It is open to kids up to 12 years old and will run from 11 am to 3 pm.

Ms Murray said the two-day event was a great opportunity for Rochester to come together and celebrate their town.

“It brings a lot of people together, like the agricultural side and the businesses in town,” she said.

“I encourage everyone to come out and give the Rochester Show a go.”

The Rochester Show will run on February 21 from 5.30 pm to 10 pm, and on February 22 from 9 am to 4 pm.
