This year marks 150 years of the show, which has brought together generations of residents, farmers, businesses, exhibitors, volunteers and visitors.
Over the decades, the event has reflected the strength of the region’s agricultural sector while providing an opportunity for the community to enjoy a unique country show experience.
City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Shane Sali extended an informal invitation to Her Excellency when they spoke at the Australian Local Government Association National General Assembly earlier this year.
“I am delighted that Her Excellency has accepted my invitation and Greater Shepparton looks forward to welcoming her to our region as we mark this historic milestone for the Shepparton Show,” Cr Sali said.
“Her attendance recognises the importance of the show, not only to Greater Shepparton, but also its contribution to regional Australia and our agricultural heritage.”
Shepparton Agricultural Society president Kevin Winch said past and current committee members had worked so hard over many years to deliver the Shepparton Show.
“It is because of the committee’s hard work that we have been able to reach this 150-year milestone,” Mr Winch said.
“Without the support of council, the show would not exist.
“It is always a great exhibition of local products, our dairy displays and our agricultural industry more broadly, and we can’t wait to celebrate this special occasion with the community next month.”
Cr Sali thanked the Shepparton Agricultural Society Committee for its dedication and commitment to the show over many years.
The 2026 Shepparton Show will be held on Friday, October 9 and Saturday, October 10.
