MAN OF THE WEEK: Bruno Fornaroli. The Melbourne Victory striker scored four wonderful goals, including an extraordinary rabona, to headline a 5-3 win over Newcastle. He could easily have scored five or six goals, too.
TALKING POINT: How good can Nestor Irankunda be? The Adelaide teen sensation stepped up and scored an incredible curling free kick against Melbourne City, his first goal as a starter. He's only going to get better, too.
STAT ATTACK: Western Sydney's five goals in the opening 45 minutes in their win over Western United equalled the Australian men's national league first-half record and the final winning margin was their equal-best ever.
BEAT THAT: Lachie Brook opened the scoring for Western Sydney with a wonderful solo goal. Brook received the ball on the edge of the area, danced away from goal then hooked a wonderful left-footed shot into the top corner.
BEAT THAT 2: Cometh the moment, cometh Alex Paulsen. Late against Perth, with the Phoenix leading 2-1, goalkeeper Paulsen - just 21 and on his home debut - saved Adam Taggart's penalty as Wellington clung on.
INJURIES: Perth youngster Luke Ivanovic was forced off early in the Glory's 2-1 loss to Wellington, while Victory's Jason Geria had quad tightness.
UNDER PRESSURE: The heat is well and truly on Sydney FC's defence and goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne after their horror 3-0 loss to Brisbane. Redmayne made a huge clanger in the 21st minute when he miscued an attempted clearance that went straight into the path of Roar's Nikola Mileusnic who just had to tap the ball into the back of the net.
