Some people would say ‘crazy’ but those having a go often finish their session with a smile and a feeling of fulfilment. Offering running sessions from the Balance Spin Studio has provided keen, recreational runners with a home-base and sense of team connectedness.
Everyone feels safe, supported and encouraged to have a go, something Cam and Meg Wood are very proud of.
“It’s all about participation, camaraderie and the consistent improvements everyone is making – and that’s so rewarding,” Meg said.
“Once people meet each other and start running together, friendships form and plans are made to conquer events together.
“We had a group of ladies who trained together and ran at the Sydney City-2-Surf in tutus. They supported each other and had an amazing weekend away.
“Recently we had over 30 Balance Sunrunners participate at Bright Running Festival. All families and friends were welcome to join the team.
“The larger our Yarrawonga/Mulwala running community is, the better! We welcome everyone to be part of the Balance family,” Cam said.
Some great performances on the day were from Tim Roadley, Norm Fitzgerald and Cam Wood on their completion of the 50km event. A gruelling challenge including a 12km stint of constant climbing, with a total of 2200mts of elevation gained overall and taking them between 5-7hrs to complete!
Other runners took on the 23km, 10km and 5km events, all sharing their trail adventures at the Bright Brewery afterwards.
Other great performances in recent months include: Stacey Barrot’s win at the half-marathon at Shepparton Running Festival, her second win at this event. Her training in and out of the studio is setting her up well for the Melbourne Marathon full in October.
Jordan Ibbott, Michael Ibbott and Meg Wood also ran well at the Fed Hill Challenge trail run in Wodonga, all finishing on the podium.
Any community members wishing to have a go at running – team members often meet for a FREE social run on Sunday from Lake Mulwala Bakery at 7:15am – check the Balance Sunrunner Facebook group for details.
