The club also had the AGM on Monday 22.
Monday, July 8 saw reigning club champion Jake Thompson defeating Cooper Yeomans. Jake holds this title for a very good reason and is coming into some seriously good mid-season form whilst Cooper is playing almost career best snooker recently.
Wednesday July, 10 saw Nev Page just edging out Club President Darren Thompson in social play. Darren is a club stalwart who, as president, shoulders plenty of administrative and organisational responsibilities, which is greatly appreciated by all members.
The club are all very hopeful that he nominates for the President’s role again this year as he would leave very big shoes to fill if he decided to take a well-earned rest.
Deb Harbrow qualified for the Bruce Johnston Cup final that was played on Monday, July 22 with a qualifying win over Darren Thompson followed by semi-final victory against Gus McMillan on Monday, July 15.
Gus had earlier eliminated Darren Edwards.
Deb will be taking on Jake Thompson who took out the other semi-final on Tuesday, July 16 against Daryl McKernan, after initially beating Cooper Yeomans.
Daryl had cleaned up Nev Page to make his way to the semi. This match proved how accurate the handicapping system is when Jake set this year’s best break mark with an excellent 45 in game 2, only for Daryl to still win that frame to force the match to a deciding third game.
Debbie is having a great season and continues to shine in major events so this final is too hard to tip. Best of luck to you both in one of the very prestigous events.
Wednesday, July 17 saw Nev Page getting past Daryl McKernan to take out the social event. Daryl has just returned from holidays and has struck immediate great form, much like Mahogany and Manikato coming back to the racetrack from spells.
