After setting a respectable 5 for 200, with Matt Casey scoring 102, the Lakers bowled with great line and length to dismiss the Tigers for 154 in the 64th over of play.
Will Sharp bowled brilliantly taking 5 for 37 off 12 overs and in doing so took his first A Grade five wicket haul.
The Ovens Valley team were in a strong position at 2 for 64, but with a great bowling display lead by Sharp the Tigers lost 5 wickets for just 29 runs. James Irvine took 3 for 28 off 11 overs including the key wickets of openers Howden and Bursill.
At 7 for 93, the Lakers had complete control of the game as Sharp and Irvine cut a swathe through the Tigers.
Although the Tigers kept attacking the Lakers restricted their scoring shots with tight bowling. Corey McIntosh continued his excellent season with 1 for 10 off 5.3 overs; Matt McCabe took 1 for 17 off 7 overs. Although wicketless, Angus McMillan 0 for 14 off 11 overs and Brock McCabe 0 for 31 off 15 overs were excellent in bowling to the team plan.
The Lakers ended the Tigers innings at 154 to claim the win and head into the break with a game lead on top of the A Grade WDCA ladder.
The A Grade will compete in the T20 competition which begins with a home game at Stan Hargreaves Oval on Friday, January 3, then headed to complete a double header against Beechworth at Beechworth and then Myrtleford at Myrtleford on Saturday, January 4.
