Cobram Junior Soccer Association President, Mario Pardo, said the club was excited about the upcoming completion and handover of the clubrooms to the Cobram Roar FC community and was pleased to be able to contribute such a significant sum towards the building.
“Apex Park has been the home of junior soccer in Cobram since the 1990’s, with children from Yarrawonga, Cobram and Finley regularly playing at the grounds over the autumn-winter Saturday morning soccer season” he said.
“When the new Cobram Roar clubrooms are completed, Cobram Roar FC will also call Apex Park home, which is exciting as it will really cement Apex Park as the focal point for soccer in the Cobram area” he added.
The new building project delivers new clubrooms and new toilet and change room facilities for users of Apex Park.
Cobram Roar FC President Manny Artavilla said that this will support both juniors playing soccer on Saturday mornings, as well as for Cobram Roar juniors and seniors playing in the Albury Wodonga Football Association Sunday competition.
“The clubrooms mean a lot to Cobram Roar, as they give us a permanent home all-year round. The new toilet and change room facilities will provide a better experience for local and visiting players and their families, as well as the wider community. We are looking forward to using the new facilities in the 2020 season” Mr Artavilla said.
“We still have a bit to go in terms of raising funds for the building, so we very much appreciate Cobram Junior Soccer Association’s contribution to the project.”
Both clubs are continuing to fundraise for the project.
