YMGCR Bowls
Many of the planned matches and games were cancelled last week due to the wonderful rain that we received.
It was so good to see smiles on faces, as everyone embraced the change of weather conditions.
Let’s hope that the follow up rains come along to further ease the terrible drought conditions that have gripped our country.

Pennant results –
Tuesday March 3 - the final of midweek pennant was held at Corowa Civic Bowls Club.
A1 played Wodonga and A3 played Yackandandah.
Unfortunately, both divisions lost. They both did very well though ending up in 2nd position on the ladder this season.
A3 did especially well as they had just been allocated up to A3 this year. Well done all. Maybe next year will be our year.
It was great to see so many members come to support the club. Thank you all for coming, it really was appreciated.
Both divisions and some supporters went back to the club to celebrate with a few drinks and pizza.
A big thank you to Papalia’s, one of the sponsors for the pizzas (enjoyed by all) and their sponsorship.
The sheet is up for those wishing to play pennant next season.
It may seem a long time away, but the teams have to be entered with Ovens and Murray, so we need to know we are going to have enough players to cover the teams we enter and of course emergencies as well.

ClubMulwalaOutdoor Bowls Club
Tuesday, March 3 – Ovens and Murray Midweek Pennant Final.
Division A2 – ClubMulwala 75 defeated Corowa RSL 64.
A hard fought victory by ClubMulwala winning two of the three rinks against an opposition who had destroyed the A2 team during the home and away season allowing us just one rink win all year.
Going into the final Corowa RSL would have been confident; very confident considering their abilities and prowess on the green.
Their bowling abilities; their body language; their supporters, all put together make a formidable opponent.
Plus, they had gone straight to the final after defeating a very strong Wodonga.
What ClubMulwala had was a belief.
A belief that if we played for each other; if we encouraged; if we talked each other up; if we covered other rinks who were not going so well and if we played as a side, then we could win.
And then there was our supporters.
There is no doubt that, as happened in the final on the previous Saturday with our weekend A4 side, that without the wonderful support we received we may well not have been successful.
There is proof that when you play for the success of a club – ClubMulwala Outdoor Bowls Club and not as individuals achieving success as a team, a side a Club, is possible.
Congratulations to all who participated in the Midweek A2 team throughout the year culminating in the premiership final win.
You are all part of our success.
ClubMulwala – Let’s go there.
