The YDCA competition finished in 2007-08. The YMCC was formed and now competes very successfully in the Wangaratta & District Cricket Association -WDCA.
The YMCC consists of open age A Grade, A Reserve, B Grade & C Grade, U/16, U/14 and 2 X U/12. This now works very well along with the “Milo Have a Go” program and Junior teams on Friday nights.
“But we want to get our history of the YDCA together so we can remember and celebrate the players, teams and outstanding performances of the era,” Life Member Glenn Brear told the Yarrawonga Chronicle.
“All photos and cuttings provided to us will be either scanned or photocopied, so put your name across the back of these so we can return them back to the provider.
“Many great players and teams graced our fields in Yarrawonga, Mulwala, Tungamah, Wilby, Rennie, Oaklands, Ringwood, Berrigan and surrounding districts so please scan through your albums and scrap books and make these available. They will be returned if you put your name and phone number on the back of the item.”
All cricket followers should get behind this quest so local cricket history can be displayed and kept for many generations to come. For any assistance, please contact on 0409 431 678 to organise what history you hold can be obtained.
