Local swimmers, Greg Bye, Sarah Kaye and Lyndon Hart (pictured) will only have to brave the early morning elements for just another week as restrictions associated with the COVD-19 pandemic start to ease.
With heated pools closed until June 1, these keen local swimmers have donned their wetsuits to swim in Lake Mulwala at 6.30am, six days a week.
“The water is a bit chilly, 12 degrees in fact. Anybody is welcome to join us,” Greg said.
“Lyndon and I (both are coaches at Yarrawonga Mulwala Swimming Club) do not want to hear any complaints from our charges next season about how cold the water is,” Greg joked.
The swimming trio will get a reprieve when nearby heated pools re-open on June 1, albeit for groups of 20 at a time.
