Thrilling club championships

Former professional Caracella, who has regained his amateur status, will tee off with Martin and Droop at 12.30pm on the Murray Course this Saturday for the third round. The final round will be played this Sunday, on the Lake Course.

In B Grade, it’s a three-way tie. With a two-round score of 170 are Darren McMillan, Barry Sullivan and Corny Boers who share the lead by just one stroke from Gary McNamara and Bob Kruger.

Trevor Read is a chance to win C Grade, having fired a two-round total of 171 to lead by 10 strokes. On 181 are Geoff Davies, Neville Page and Barry Baines.

Rob Monroe is favoured to claim the D Grade title after his half-way score of 185 to lead by eight strokes from John Lawless and Phil Smith who have carded a total of 193.
