Not just a walk in the park

Local Tim Roadley completed a 42km marathon two weeks ago and is continuing to run and walk for the FAST 4 for stroke challenge.

Tim’s FAST4 challenge is going well with over $600 raised to date and the FAST message getting out there.

An example of the work Tim is doing came from a lovely message he received.

“Early on Monday I received a donation with the message: Tim, thanks for putting the spotlight on Stroke that kills more women than breast cancer and more men than prostate cancer. I survived a stroke in 2018. I was just 45. My husband recognised mine immediately. He’s my FAST hero.

“Remember the FAST signs of Stroke and you too could be a FAST Hero.”

Following on from his Win News interview mid last week Tim also did four Parkruns: Thursday- Cobram Parkrun course, Friday - walk around Chinamans Island/ Silverwood boardwalk then along new track to Hogans Rd boat ramp, Saturday- Silverwoods loop and Sunday- Mulwala streets with the Sunrunners.

“This week is 10km which I am doing for the Yarrawonga Mulwala Multi Sports festival foreshore run that has been going for over 10 years but will not be going ahead this year,” Tim said.

“I am encouraging locals to join me this Saturday morning from 8am. You can do 5km, 3km or 1km as well.”
