Tuesday, October 22 – Midweek Pennant.
Division A2 – Club Mulwala 86 (12) defeated YMGCR 69 (2).
Ladder Position – 1.
Division B1 – Club Mulwala 66 (2) defeated by Corowa RSL 71 (12).
Ladder Position – 6.
Guess which Jan in the club (and there are a few) wore her shorts on back-to-front for the entire match.
Wednesday, October 23 – Ladies 100 UP Semi- Final.
Two very entertaining matches were played with great bowling by all. The scores are not necessarily indicative of how close these matches were.
Bev Norwood 104 defeated Margaret Pretty 79.
Faye Cook 106 defeated Carmen Mangan 88.
Congratulations to the winners with the Final to be played on Wednesday, October 30 at 10am.
Thursday, October 24 – Ladies Consistency Fours at Yarrawonga.
Congratulations to the ladies team who won the day with 62 shots up.
The team consisted of Skip Loris Lochhead, 3rd Jan Martin, 2nd Jackie Seymour and Lead Judy Laughlin.
Congratulations must also go to Yarrawonga Bowls Club for what has been reported as a very professionally run event which was enjoyed by all.
Saturday, October 26 – Weekend Pennant.
Division A4 – Club Mulwala 104 (15) defeated Milawa 71 (3).
Ladder Position – 1.
Division B2 – Club Mulwala 44 (2) defeated by YMGCR 95 (14).
Ladder Position – 3.
A very difficult day for the competition with bowlers competing with heavy rain, gusting winds, hail and even ducks sheltering on the playing surface at Club Mulwala.
All bowlers did extremely well under the adverse conditions which, thankfully, did improve later in the day.
Sunday, October 27 – Ladies Singles Club Championship Final.
Great bowling, excellent sportsmanship and an exciting spectator game was put on by the two finalist.
The final result: Anita Albert 26 defeated Faye Cook 13.
Played with great respect for each other’s abilities, these two ladies who attended Box Hill State School together (some short years ago) are both to be congratulated on the standard of bowls produced.
Men’s Singles Club Champion Semi-final.
In games which were described by spectators as ‘brilliant’, the four semi-finalists played out exciting games under beautiful sunshine and (almost) cloud free skies.
Daryl Dighton 25 defeated Mick Millsom 8.
Jason Milich 27 defeated Cliff Morton 16.
Congratulations to all participants and especially the winners Daryl and Jason who will play in the final on Sunday, November 3 at 10am.

YMGCR Bowls
Let’s all celebrate the milestone achievement of Anne Miles and her call up as an Australian Team member.
The club believe this selection to be the first National Female representation from our town. Anne, we salute you and wish you well.
Anne and another talented YMGCR Bowler, Caroline Reilly, also recently competed for Victoria in the Victorian Seniors Team at the Australian Senior Sides Championship and proudly came home with silver medals around their necks. Congratulations to you both.
Bloke’s Day Triples
YMGCR take on this challenge and this year the Bloke’s Day Triples focus is Prostate Cancer.
The day will be held on Oaks Day, Thursday November 7 starting at 10am with a BBQ lunch provided. Entries and details from Kerry Kinnane (0419313683) or Rob Lidgerwood (0427500263).
Visitors are welcome to join club members for this important day.

Yarrawonga Bowls
Our Condolences go out this week to the family and friends of 2 past members, Richie Albert and Joan McBean. RIP.
The final of the Ladies and Men’s 100 up were played and both games were well contested.
We congratulate Elaine Thomas and Ian Woods on being this year’s 100 Up winners.
Well done also to Jan Hermassoo and Ray Sheridan on being runners up.
The final of the Mixed Pairs will be played on Sunday, November 3 at 10am for those that would like to come and watch.
It is between Ros King /Ian Woods and Kim Lefevre/Wayne Jessup. Good bowling to all.
The Bob Lewis 2 Bowl Singles was played and the winner was R Jeffcott, runner up - R Hermassoo.
Pennant results –
Tuesday October 22 - A1 played Myrtleford at home and won.
A3 played Wangaratta at home and had a good win.
Saturday October 26 - A1 played Wodonga at Wodonga with Wodonga proving to be too good on the day.
A3 played Bright at home and lost. B2 played Corowa RSL at home and lost.
On Thursday October 24 our Ladies Consistency Fours Tournament was held.
It was a very hot day, but we managed to get all 3 games played.
The winners on the day were – L Lockhead’s team from Club Mulwala with 3 wins plus 62.
2nd – B Turners team from Cobram with 3 wins plus 12.
3rd - Ros Kings team from Yarrawonga with 2 wins plus 40.
Best last game went to Kerry Gribbles team from Yarrawonga with plus 20.
We would like to thank our Tournament Director Evelyn and all the members that helped in so many ways to make this tournament the success it was.
