Yarrawonga Mulwala A Grade have scraped home in their clash with Beechworth at the Stan Hargreaves Oval in Yarrawonga.

Winning the toss and bowling, Corey McIntosh and Matt McCabe struck early wickets to remove the openers and help the YMCC to keep Beechworth to a low score of 8 for 95 from 40 overs.
McCabe would bowl eight straight overs returning the figures of 2 for 12 with 3 maidens.
McIntosh had five overs with 1 for 10, while Brock McCabe and Angus McMillan finished with identical figure of 1 for 19 off 8 overs; Rory Bartlett claimed the final wicket with figures of 1 for 12 off 4 overs.
Putting everything into this delivery was medium pacer Jacob Bartlett.

The YMCC fielding saw two run outs through McIntosh and Bartlett and the YMCC had a small but tough 95 runs to chase for victory.
The run chase started slowly with Matt Casey and Reid Clarke and with the score on 16 both batsmen fell.
McIntosh and Jobe Fraser came to the crease and negotiated a tough period of excellent line and length form Beechworth’s bowling attack.
Yarrawonga Mulwala had five players reach double figures with Jobe Fraser the leading scorer with 15 and Matt Knight, McMillan and Jacob Bartlett each scoring 11 and Matt Casey 10 runs.
Lower order Batsman Ben Kennedy played well to score 8 runs and Matt McCabe made four coming off his opening shot.
The YMCC were all out for 103 from 36 overs.
Next Saturday, the A Grade take on Wangaratta Magpies at Norm Minns Oval in Wangaratta.
