Club Mulwala Outdoor Bowls
The weather is fine but the smoke haze has created some discomfort this week, however
bowls have not been affected.
Tuesday Pennant
Saw the B1 team travel to YMGCR to meet Yarrawonga in the grand final.
This was not our best day of the season and we struck a side full of confidence that played some wonderful bowls which on the day we could not match.
One rink came away with a win whilst one lost by one shot and the third went down badly, however we should be very proud of the fact we were in the grand final.
Thank you to all our members who turned up on the day to support our team.
A big thank you to the team at YMGCR who presented great greens and facilities for the final.
Pennant Season
Members should be extremely proud of the results for the season: four teams entered, three made it to grand finals, with two coming home with the win.
A 75% result in making grand finals, a 50% grand final winning percentage, not too bad for a club of our size, as Meatloaf once said “two out of three ain’t bad.”
Congratulations to all members who represented the club over the season, a job well done.
We are pleased to advise we have already received an invitation from Ovens and Murray to enter a side in A4 in next seasons Saturday competition.
Upcoming Events
There are a number of events coming up in the next few weeks, some club championship events some social.
Please check the notice board behind the escalator for full details.
A couple of these days are very special, we strongly recommend you have a look at the board where full details will be displayed.
We urge all local bowlers to join us.
The sheets are now on the board for the Easter Krackerjack tournament.
Bowlers from all clubs are invited to come along and have a great couple of days, single entries are also always welcome.
YMGCR Bowls
Now with all the pennant and competitions over we can enjoy our bowling in the pleasant autumn weather.
The match committees will be offering many opportunities for everyone to come on board and join in the activities. Please refer to the notice board and fill in entry sheets provided.
Midweek Pennant Finals
YMGCR was represented in two Grand Finals at Corowa Civic last week. Unfortunately the A3 team ended the season as runners up, finishing the game only 6 shots short of the Wodonga opposition.
They have had a great series and can hold their heads high.
A1 completed their season with a wonderful win against rivals Benalla.
These two teams seem to be always testing each other out but this time YMGCR came out on top.
Led by skips Anne Miles, Laureen Smith and Ray Irvine, it was the culmination of a very good year of high-level bowling. Well done A1.
General Meeting
A special general meeting of the bowls section of YMGCR will be held Monday, March 25 at 7pm.
The purpose of the meeting is approval or not of the new uniform.
If approved the motion will then proceed to the YMGCR board.

Green Day Sunday, March 17 is at Kurt and Marj Bleckwehl’s, next door to the Mulwala Ski Club.

Yarrawonga Bowls
The club would like to start off this week by asking people to please put your full name down on the players sheets as this is needed. Your help with this matter will be appreciated.
Well they did it!
Congratulations to the Midweek B1 Pennant team on winning the final.
It was very well deserved as they had only dropped the last 2 games of the season and got back on track to win the finals.
Thank you also to the people that filled in over the season, you helped to get them through as well.
They started off the game very well getting well in front quickly.
About half way through the game ClubMulwala started closing the gap but Yarrawonga rallied to get through with 17 shots up.
From all of us at Yarrawonga Bowls Club, well done!
Congratulations to ClubMulwala also on finishing well to get into the final.
