Tungamah Bowl Club
Horse auction
Hold tight - we’re checking permissions before loading more content
What a great night and the club definitely need a new Clubhouse.
There was difficulty moving around as about 70 people joined in this annual Auction. Bidding was fierce as various camps vied for that horse they fancied.
Some have been rewarded as their fancy paid off.
All funds from this auction were returned to the winning purchasers, as were the Sweeps.
Various novelty prizes were awarded to many in the crowd. A variety food was plentiful and available all night.
A special thank you to Paul Basse proprietor of the Tungamah Hotel for his continued loyal support of this night and especially for the generous donation of an accommodation voucher.
This was auctioned off in a very competitive bidding war, no doubt the purchaser will appreciate the night he stays.
All funds received, apart from the horses, goes directly towards the Building Fund. A progress report on this fund will be reported next week.
Tungamah Bowls Club thanks all those that attended. Members hope you enjoyed your night and look forward to your attendance in 2026.
Thanks to Dylan Sidebottom and Allan Ralph for running the auction and the Board, to John and Chris Hemphill for the catering and to others that helped on the night.
Pennant; Midweek: Travelled to Howlong, second on the ladder. Tungamah appreciated their green as they had heavy rain on the Tuesday night which made the green a good pace. Defeated 61 to 52. A3s: Also travelled to Howlong who defeated Tungamah 86 to 67. Tunga got two rinks up collecting four points from the top side. This lifts Tungamah off the ladder bottom, so are Tunga on their way? Saturday at home to Benalla.

Saturday, November 8
It was a tough day for the club with all divisions losing. Not an auspicious start to the season but the teams are united and focused - let’s stay positive and procure a few wins over the next few weeks before Xmas break.
A1s - travelled to Rutherglen and had a good tussle going down 12 shots 69-81. Three rinks went down but Robbie Wickham’s rink of R King, W Barnes and G Hargreaves had an excellent day winning their rink 23-13 – great to see.
A4s - played Wodonga at home losing 68-95. K Allender’s rink only went down by one shot and Jocks rink got up by one shot so a good effort there.
B1s also played at home vs St James and whilst they had a loss going down 44-58. They had a very positive day drawing two out of three rinks and only losing the one. A good performance and bounce back.
