Chilly albeit fine weather saw a light muster of 12 bowlers soldier arms for Social Bowls on Wednesday, June 12.
Games were played on the west green, and it was the usual format of two games of twelve ends of 3 bowl pairs. Winners on the day were the team of Don Tipping (S) and Chris Horne (L), who won both their games with a shot total of plus 11. Runners Up was the combination of Barb Tennyson (S) and Neville Coleman (L), with both games won and a shot total of plus 2.

Wednesday Social Bowls will undergo a change of format in July, with improved prize money and a new game format with a new concept for deciding the winning rinks. Watch this space for further news over the next few weeks.
Friday Social Bowls
A solid field of 36 players enjoyed the fine conditions, greens which were running well, and each other’s company last Friday. It was also an endorsement for the Friday format that we continue to welcome friends from Tungamah and Yarrawonga Bowls Clubs as well as the occasional visitors from Melbourne and further afield.
Winning the day were the team of ‘Doddy’ Dodman and Ross Lloyd. Collecting the Runners Up Prize were the combo of Ray Brown and Julian Jones. The consolation prizes of a drink card each were the pairing of Bruce Irvine, (visiting from Melbourne), and Chris Horne, and the team of ‘Doddy’ Dodman and Ross Lloyd.
Weekend and Mid–Week Pennant lists
Weekend and Mid –Week Pennant Lists are now up on the Bowls Notice Boards, so if you are intending to play pennant, please add your names to the list as soon as you can. This will enable the selectors to decide how many teams we will be entering for pennant this year. Until next week, good bowling.

Pennant 2024/2025 Season
A sheet has been posted on the board at the greens for interested members to place their names on for the 2024/2025 Pennant season. The selection committee ask members to place their names on the list asap so the number of teams to be entered for the upcoming Pennant season can be finalised.
Ladies Social Luncheon
A social lunch has been organised for Monday 24th of June at Diggers Restaurant, Club Mulwala at 12 noon. All lady members and male members partners are very welcome. Please place your name on the list on the notice board at the greens. This will be a great way for new and old members and their partners to meet and socialise as the new season begins. Tuesday Social Bowls
Last Tuesday Bowls was a wash out due to the rain, however a band of Club Mulwala Bowls members took the opportunity to have a Working Bee. A clean up and reorganising of the Storage and Bar Area was completed in readiness for the coming season. A huge thank you to all helped on the day.

Yarrawonga Bowls Report
We would like to thank the Moira Shire for the Grant we received from them for the much needed painting of the inside of our Clubhouse. The difference this facelift has made is amazing, just so bright and clean.
Congratulations to two of our members: Michael Szabo and Gary Murnane along with Brad Mitchell from Club Mulwala on winning the Deniliquen Triples Tournament on Monday June 10. Well Done Guys!
Social club news
Soup and games day- On Sunday June 30 from 12.30 to 4pm. Come along and have some fun and socialize with family and friends. $5 per person gives you soup, bread roll and games. The Bar will be open and the Footy will be on. To make it even more fun if you dress in pyjamas, slippers, Flannelette shirt, or moccasins (optional) you will go into a Draw for a Prize.
