The super Yarrawonga under 12s took on Lavington on Sunday and once again played a disciplined and impressive brand of footy that got them the win.
The run and carry, linkage play and support for one another resulted in some really impressive passages of play that you could be mistaken for thinking may have been the under 16s.
Mac Hargreaves was sensational throughout the game with attacking footy from the midfield, giving the forwards every opportunity.
With the ball coming into the forward line typical of a wet day, the boys seized their opportunities and were able to hit the score board and maintain a good lead.
Once again Harry Ramsdale was solid and reliable especially across halfback. There was also some impressive performances from Tom Conway, Tylan Renau and the Smith boys to name just a few.

Special mention to some first-year players who got their hands on the ball and kicked their first goals for the Pigeons: Tom Hicks, Harlem Doric and Max Coll.
The boys continued to play an unselfish team-oriented game and it continues to be the Pigeons brand as it moves into the second half of the season.
Keep it up boys.

The Pigeons boys had an excellent result against Lavington on Sunday, taking the lead early on and holding it throughout the game.
Lavington played very well all day with good defence and attacking plays, but Yarrawonga was able to keep their scoring opportunities low with some great defence.
Yarrawonga’s centres did well all day winning most of the bounces and moving the ball forward with effective kicking and handballing.
All the boys should be proud off their efforts.

In trying conditions, and against the ladder leaders, the Yarra boys had a crack from the first bounce. Xav Mitchell had a great game as leader in defence, spoiling first and providing plenty of rebound.
He was well supported in the backline by Ryan Cameron, Jordy Ibbott and Archie Jaques.
The midfield brigade of Stevens, Archie Skehan, Mitch Tyson and Sam Bigger worked tirelessly to turn it over and force the ball forward.
Jobe Fraser gave a presence up forward and finished with four goals. Will Murphy continues to get better each week and seemed to thrive in the wet.
Riley Bone inspires others with his attack on the football. The coaches were rapt with the team’s effort and will take many positives into next week’s game.
